It was the middle
of April and the temperatures were nearing three digits. Snowbirds, those people who gather in Arizona to avoid cold northern winters, were leaving to avoid the heat. And then, overnight, children in Scottsdale were making snow angels in their back yards. Locals trouped
to the desert to gawk at the foreign white stuff and take photos of snow on the
cactus.

By afternoon, the snow on the desert was gone although remenants of it clung to the nearby
Superstition Mountains for another day. Now, we have
only our photos to prove it really happened.
